Editorial Photography
and Photojournalism
Photography tells stories. On assignment, I strive to tell
a story through imagery, as well as in words. Sometimes, the images tell
the whole story, without words.
I believe that the photographs should say more about the
subject than about the photographer.
Specialties
Most assignments involve photographs to illustrate written articles,
show success stories or document events. I am usually asked to cover the
following subjects:
- travel and tourism.
- small business and home business.
- health promotion and injury prevention.
- education.
- general interest.
- special event coverage.
I prefer film to digital photography. Film provides an authentic
record of events. Scanned images, such as those appearing on these Web
pages, can be compared to original photographs to see if they provide
faithful reproduction.

the valleys. Photo taken for GeoQwest
